My work on these design system projects involved crafting cohesive visual and functional frameworks, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and quality across our platforms.
At Matterport, I was brought on board to contribute to the development and promotion of the Supernova design system. Our mission was to establish and advance the system, driving consistency across the platform's user experiences, streamlining development processes for enhanced efficiency, and elevating product quality to meet our goals.
I led the development of the Calcite design system in Esri's Field Apps team, aligning it with platform-wide design language efforts. Through five iterations, I collaborated with other teams to shape design standards. We began in Sketch and Abstract, later migrating to Figma. I also worked with the engineering team to create and validate Stencil components, ensuring design consistency and enhancing user experiences in our field applications.
At Esri, I played a key role in designing and engineering a feature for ArcGIS Open Data that allowed users to create customizable micro-sites. Leveraging Bootstrap, I introduced Calcite Bootstrap, a customized theme and build. This system was adopted by various Esri products and projects, serving as a design system foundation for several years.
